Bringing home a new puppy is always a fun and exciting for the whole family. However, one family, except the wife that got him, was surprised to learn over the course of few months that their Jack Russell puppy grew to over 200lbs.
Sue Markham was working next door to a local shelter in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. That was where she fell in love with an adorable puppy! She knew her husband, Robert, wouldn’t let bring a dog home unless it stays small even when full grown. Sue decided to tell her husband that the puppy she was bringing home was a Jack Russell terrier.
The puppy’s name is Yogi Bear, or better known as ‘Bear.’ As Bear continue to grow, it was obvious that he wasn’t a Jack Russell and Robert knew this was the case. Nevertheless, Bear has already stolen their hearts and grew to be 210 pounds and 36 inches tall to his shoulder. Bear is a Boston Great Dane, one of the largest dog breeds in the world!
Even though he wasn’t as small as expected, Robert fell in love with the gentle giant. He’s so big that it cost around $240 a month to feed Bear. Besides dog food, Sue and Robert gives him, sausage, eggs, and even biscuits! A dog this size definitely isn’t for everyone. To stay healthy, Bear exercises in their 3-acre backyard.
Yogi Bear loves attention and being petted. They have weekly car trips and Bear can’t wait to get into the car and meet new people. One little boy asked Sue how she got Bear to be so big because he wants his dog to be as big as him!
Even though it wasn’t what Robert though at first, they both grew to love Yogi Bear! Sue and Robert would enjoy spending time on the couch with Bear.
Although Bear got so big, so has Robert and Sue’s love for him!
